Decorating a small kitchen is all about finding the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. For those of us with kitchen windows that face the road, achieving this balance can be particularly challenging. We want our kitchen to be filled with natural light, yet we also value our privacy, here is where cafe curtains become the perfect solution. Cafe curtains are designed to cover only the lower half of a window, which offers a unique blend of privacy and illumination.
The benefits of cafe curtains extend beyond their functionality, they also bring a touch of charm and elegance to a white kitchen. Available in a variety of fabrics, patterns, and colors, cafe curtains can be tailored to match any kitchen decor.

Kitchen Cafe Curtains
Curtains
These curtains come in several colors, styles and sizes to create the perfect cafe curtains. I purchased two 26″ x 24″ rod pocket curtains in the color “Striped Taupe” which were the perfect height to hide the lower window. I also purchased the two-pack so that I have the option to keep one curtain on either side of the window.
Curtain Rod
Since I have corner windows I decided to place the rod inside the window frame. I used adhesive curtain rod holders and cut them to size then placed them inside the window frame. Then I took the curtain rod end caps off and placed the rod inside the holders. A small piece of tape was applied to the back of the rod to keep it from moving.
Curtain Ring Clips
Although you can feed the curtain rod through the curtains, I decided instead to use curtain rings with clips. This way the curtains could slide more easily along the rod.
