1. Follow Pinterest Trends
Click on Analytics > Trends
Here you can search your specific country and type in the topics you want to post about. Below it will show you a graph of all the related topics and how well they are currently ranking. I picked the highest-ranking topic for my pin titles that week.
2. Clickable VS Saveable Pins
Clickable pins: My only goal is to create clickable pins in order to get people to my website. I choose pretty photos that are easy to read. They get the point across quickly and must be clicked on in order to find out more information.
Saveable pins: Saveable pins are good for engagement but they will not bring people to your website so make sure you understand that things like quotes have the potential to grow your Pinterest page but will not grow your website.
3. Schedule Pin Postings
Yes, there is an algorithm for the timing of your postings, the more people engage in your post immediately after posting, the more Pinterest will push your pin.
Tailwind was incredibly helpful by scheduling my pins during peak times, which took all the guesswork out of it.
4. Create 2 – 10 Pins A Day
I almost had a heart attack when someone said that they created 10 pins a day but luckily there is a trick to this all, let me explain how.
Use Tailwind in order to create multiple pins from 1 uploaded photo. I will typically use Canva to create a pin but if I want several pins then I will use Tailwind.
In the first week of posting, I only posted 2 pins a day and then week 2 I started pinning 5 pins a day. I would like to get to 8-10 pins a day in the next couple of weeks.
Pin Hack:
The Pinterest algorithm considers 1 photo and 1 website link as a fresh pin, this means that you can use 1 photo with 10 different website links and vice versa. This is a little hack I learned to create many photos now that I have several blog posts.
5. Save 20 Pins A Day
I try to save up to 20 pins every day that relate to my boards, this makes your board more enticing with interesting pins to look at when people click on your page. I started with 20-50 pins per board and now have close to 100 pins per board. You can also schedule your saved pins on Tailwind if you don’t have time to do so every day.
6. Create Idea Pins
Create > Create Idea Pin
Idea Pins are a great way to boost your engagement, I have only posted 1 Idea Pin but my Pinterest impressions went from 268 – 579 in 1 day and continue to increase every day. From what I understand, Pinterest is boosting Idea Pins in order to compete with Instagram and Tiktok. Another great thing about Idea Pins, is that they never expire so they will continue to boost your engagement.
7. Pinterest SEO
In order for Pinterest to categorize your pin properly you must fill out the title and description. I try to write very similar descriptions for my pin, my title and my description so that Pinterest has a clear understanding of what my pin is about in order to show it to people searching for that specific topic.
